What part of “self-explanatory” don’t you understand?
If someone felt compelled to provide illustrations of so-called “self-illustrating phenomena”, would that be a tacit admission that their labeling anything “self-illustrating” was self-defeating? Wouldn’t self-explanatory be even more radical version of Given? Not just that the phenomenon is given to us qua that phenomenon, but also the explanation for it!
