Ex libris. Bookplate. likes the kind that look like little world maps. She’s got a bunch in her jacket’s inside pocket. Each already filled in to say “from the library of ”. Already filled in with a separate cryptic remark. Like “Protect ignorance. Burn this book”. She sneaks them into the books at airport bookstores. Into the science books she puts “beware of evidence-based thinking”. Into the bibles go “Jesus never studied game theory”.  The biographies of republican presidents all get the recommendation: “get Orwell soon”. Sometimes she’ll linger to see if anyone purchases her acts of gentle sabotage.
